Uphill or Downhill?

This just in from Dmitri Bilgere:

At the last Inner King Training, Tom Daly and I gave a talk about a basic paradox in life that causes people a *lot* of trouble. It's the paradox of living life "uphill" or living life "downhill." Understanding this idea has made my life a LOT easier. Let me explain by giving you a few examples of it. See if any of these seem familiar to you:
---------------
- On the one hand, you want to ACHIEVE YOUR GOALS in life. That's living "uphill."
- On the other hand, you want to simply BE PRESENT and experience and learn from your life. That's living "downhill."
---------------
- On the one hand, you want to eliminate your limitations and imperfections and 'fix' yourself. That's living "uphill."
- On the other hand, you want to fully accept your limitations and imperfections. That's living "downhill."
---------------
- On the one hand, you want to "do what you love, and the money will follow." That's downhill.
- On the other hand, you have REAL responsibilities that you can't ignore. That's uphill.
---------------
- On the one hand, you want to let go of everything, and follow your dreams. That's downhill.
- On the other hand, those bills and obligations aren't going to go away if you do that. That's uphill.
---------------
- On the one hand, you want to be more effective, buckle down, and Get Things Done. That's uphill.
- On the other hand, you want to slow down, enjoy your life, and Be Here Now. That's downhill.

My first post

Well, to tell the truth I just started this blog so I could comment on my friend Mike's blog, but I may start to blog here next year as a way to do my journal entries for a class I'll be taking. Meanwhile, I now can comment on Mike's blog
